Last Thursday, Toyota announced the first 25 winners of the Toyota 100 Cars for Good program, an initiative to help deserving non-profit organizations use Toyota vehicles for good.

Applicants were instructed to apply describing what the purpose of their organization was, and how they would use a Toyota to continue to do good in their community. Five thousand applications were received, and 500 finalists were chosen by an independent panel of judges who are experts in the fields of philanthropy and corporate social responsibility. Toyota is now giving away 100 cars over 100 days to the winners, who are determined by public vote.

Winning organizations will choose from a list of Toyota vehicles that includes the Prius, Tacoma, Tundra, Highlander Hybrid, Sienna, or Sienna Mobility. Additionally, Toyota Financial Services is providing a six-year, 100,000 mile service plan to help extend protection beyond the warranty. The public can submit one vote per day throughout the course of the program. Each day, the previous day’s winner will be announced and five new organizations will be presented for voting.
