We would like to introduce you to the “voice” of Gresham Toyota…Tamie Wilcox! If you’ve ever called or visited our dealership, you know exactly who she is! She is hard to forget! Not only is Tamie pleasant and cheerful, she is extremely knowledgeable and helpful.

Tamie was raised in logging camps in Alaska until the age of 15 before moving to Vernonia, Oregon.  She was first hired at Gresham Toyota in 1997 and worked here part-time while attending school. She graduated from the International Air Academy as a Flight Attendant in 1999 and welcomed her beautiful daughter Kailie into the world in 2000. Six years later she had a beautiful baby boy, Karter. She has been married to Josh Wilcox for 9 years and enjoys working on her fitness, with running as her favorite activity. She loves to hang out with her family, and she also attends Abundant Life Church. She has one older sister and two younger brothers, and dedicates every other Sunday to helping her 88-year-old grandfather around his home and on his Christmas Tree Farm.

Here is what Tamie had to say when we asked her how she feels about her job…

I do love my job… I like being around people, chitchat is a skill I’m pleased to say I’m very good at.

What do you do at GT? How long have you been there?

CFO, controller, and Director of Human Resources. 21 Years.

What do you LOVE about your job?

The variety, plus a great deal of discretion. I’m not ‘overmanaged.’

What is he most challenging thing about your job?

The pace. It’s hard to keep up.

What set’s GT apart from other dealers?

The owners genuinely care about customers and employees, and the work environment. It’s not all about the money.

What is your fave Toyota model?

Easy. I own a 1989 Landcruiser.

Which co-workers do you admire? Why?

Many. Doug Gabbert. Ken Hodgdon. Mike Rynaski. MANY.

How do you feel you benefit Gresham Toyota Customers? Can you tell me
a story of outstanding customer service?

One of the best ways is that I place decisions as a priority. I give managers clarification and direction, so that customers aren’t left waiting.

If you had a super human power what would it be?

Based on the pace around here, the ability to stop time for a few hours a day.

Tell us something that very few people know about you.

Worked in Saudi Arabia as a cost accountant. Also worked as professional death certificate translator (English to Spanish).
