New Toyota Cars: RAV4 Will Get An ‘Electrifying’ Make-Over
Toyota Motors and Tesla announced that they are planning to develop an all-electric Toyota RAV4, according to a New York Times blog post. This versatile Toyota vehicle is a perfect choice for a new electric vehicle.
Between 1997 and 2003, over 1,400 electric RAV4s were sold in North America and counted Tom Hanks among their drivers.
The new Toyota RAV4 will offer you the power of an SUV without the hassles of stopping at a gas station. This new electric model will be available by 2012 and will run on a powertrain created by Tesla Motors.
“We looked at many different combinations, but the RAV4 made the most sense from the beginning,” Mr. Hanson said. It’s a small S.U.V., and it gives us a lot of flexibility with packaging.”
